Denver is overhauling a stretch of East Colfax to stop traffic fatalities and serious injuries before 2030.
The project targets one of the city's most notorious corridors, moving the city closer to its Vision Zero goal of zero road deaths. For residents in the 80211 area and those commuting through Capitol Hill, this means changes to how traffic flows and how pedestrians navigate the street.
The East Colfax Quick Safety Project focuses on immediate infrastructure fixes. The city plans to install improved crosswalks, traffic calming devices, and enhanced signage to slow down vehicles and protect people crossing the road.
Residents can attend public meetings regarding these changes at Denver City Hall or find project maps and details via the city's infrastructure portal at https://services.arcgis.com/zdB7qR0BtYrg0Xpl/arcgis/rest/services/InfrastructureProjects_VisionZero_external/FeatureServer/0.
