Shoppers World is replacing the fire suppression and detection networks across its massive 208,000-square-foot retail complex.
The scale of the project is evident in the paperwork. The shopping center, located at 1 Worcester Rd in South Framingham, filed over 100 fire safety permits between February and May 2026. This volume suggests a coordinated, system-wide upgrade rather than routine maintenance.
The filing activity peaked in April, with 37 permits submitted on April 23 and another 40 on April 25. By late May, the complex had added 48 more filings in a single quarter alone.
Other commercial properties in the city are following suit. At 54 Union Ave, owners filed 12 permits between February and May 2026 specifically for fire and sprinkler upgrades.
